LANGUAGES
ENGLISH, MANDARIN
I joined the lab in 2023 as a PhD student in the Cognition and Perception program. Before moving to NYC, I completed my bachelor’s at Rice University in Cognitive Science and Linguistics, and did a master’s program in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud University in Nijmegen. I have always been fascinated by languages and how they are represented and processed in the brain. Because of my personal experience with code-switching (or language mixing) in conversations and internal monologues, I am particularly intrigued by how humans can flexibly use and integrate elements from different languages, and how it can inform us about language processing in general. I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, know some basic German, but almost exclusively listen to Cantonese music. In my free time, I enjoy traveling (by train), watching (multi-events) athletics, and good food.
