LANGUAGES
ENGLISH, JAPANESE
I’m a PhD student in psychology who joined the lab at its start in 2023. In 2021 I received my BA in Neuroscience from Hamilton College with a minor in Japanese. It was my passion for learning the Japanese language that ultimately inspired me to transition to the study of language in the mind and brain. To gain more experience in this type of research, I spent 2 years after graduation as a post-baccalaureate research scholar at MIT working concurrently in the early childhood cognition lab with Dr. Laura Schulz and the language labs with Dr. Evelina Fedorenko and Dr. Ted Gibson. My primary interests lie in understanding how language is instantiated in the brain such that it can flexibly interpret different meanings across languages. Besides being a budding scientist, I also consider myself a huge movie buff, especially with horror movies. When not spending my free time watching movies, I also enjoy singing karaoke, going for walks outside or watching my favorite (American) football team – the Philadelphia Eagles.
