Research Assistants (Undergraduate or Master’s Degree)

Q.

What opportunities are there to work as a research assistant in your lab?

There are two types of undergraduate or master’s research: part-time during the year (in parallel with your coursework) and full-time during the summer. For the former, I tend to require a minimum of 15 hours per week.

If you have already graduated from college and are looking for a full-time research assistant position, check in with me by email.

Q.

Am I qualified to do research in your lab?

Most projects in the lab involve a combination of human behavioral experiments, neuroimaging experiments, and online data collection. You should be interested in understanding how humans’ process language and its neural underpinnings. Some undergraduate researchers in the lab typically have a strong math background and some fluency in Python, Matlab, or C++. Some other focus more on helping us create stimuli or on translating materials to different languages.  If you are not sure if you are qualified, just give it a try!
